Why Do Screenplay Coverage Services Suck?

A photo of the typical screenplay coverage reader

Hey, everyone,

Thomas David Kehoe just posted a great article on the problems with many coverage companies (as well as with some writers.) It’s an eye-opening read, crystallizing what we’ve long suspected about how these things work. And he even quoted CI founder Jim Cirile in the article.

Everyone considering submitting to a coverage service (especially if you’ve never done so before) should read this piece. Kehoe also has some solid advice when it comes to when and how one should begin marketing, particularly in regard to submissions to the Black List and to screenplay contests, and with regard to the mindsets of both the typical coverage company reader as well as the delusional expectations of some writers. A must-read!

Thanks, Thomas, for such an informative and well-executed piece.
