Meet Ari Donnelly, our latest Consider
Students of the biz know that superhero-anything right now is in a bad place. Unless the project is based on well-known source material, they’re super tough to get read right now. They’re right down there with WWII movies and period dramas in terms of not-so-much marketability.
And so it was that none of the CI management team expected to respond so positively to POWER COUPLE, Ari Donnelly’s delightfully fresh, hilarious superhero romcom pilot. And that is the mark of a great script: when the talent is so undeniable, it overcomes any marketability concerns and compels people to go to bat for it. We’re delighted to award Donnelly a CONSIDER/CONSIDER and look forward to going to bat for him with our panel.
An award-winning screenwriter, chef, and salty east-coast transplant, Donnelly has worked for Starz, FX and Walt Disney Studios, supporting dozens of series and films. His scripts have won Holly Shorts and Filmmatic awards, and he had made The Black List’s Top List as well as the Coverfly Red List.
“I am both a screenwriter and an entertainment professional, primarily in creative development and literary management,” said Donnelly. “I’ve read and written a thousand script coverages, and I still found Coverage Ink’s notes a cut above the rest.
