A Nonprofit Screenwriting Community? Yes! Check Out Scriptwriters Network

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Melessa Sargent, CEO of Scriptwriters Network. If you’re unfamiliar, for the last 36 years this 501(c)3 nonprofit has been hosting networking events, panels, seminars, and outreach programs and building community among screenwriters.

With the events of 2020-2022 finally in the rear-view, they have resumed in-person events. The first one is a Friday Night Social Networking Mixer coming up March 8th, 6-10PM in Los Angeles at Stray Angel Films, 11318 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90025. We will be there, and so should you! Advance tickets are $17, and there will be a cash bar. A great opportunity to mingle, schmooze, find a writing partner, or just shake off the cobwebs.

You can register for the event right here.

Watch this 16-minute interview to learn about all the things Scriptwriters Network is into — and see if it doesn’t sound like something you can benefit from. Many of their events and programs are available to non-members, and you can also join for a reasonable annual fee to get access to the full panoply of benefits.
