Get Repped Now UPDATE!

The Get Repped Now deadline is Saturday, May 31st. Heads-up: there will be one (and only one) extension.

The FINAL deadline is June 15th.

So all of you scrambling to get your scripts done by May 31st, breathe easy, you actually have an extra two weeks.

There will be NO price increase for the extension, and our $10 resubmission discount still applies.

So then why even have a regular deadline and an extension if we’re telling everyone about it now? Well, because it’s expected. One year we didn’t have the extension, and everyone lost their minds. We got so many angry emails from folks, because every contest in the world has at least one extension (Get Repped Now is not technically a contest, but anyway.) So: regular deadline and a final deadline it is.

Our “consider” rate is generally around 2-3%. But this year we’ve only awarded two “considers for script” thus far. So bear in mind, if you make it to the consider circle, your script will have an excellent chance of standing out with the managers.

So I would advise everyone to use this extra time wisely if you’re planning to resubmit. Tighten, hone, tone, and of course edit ruthlessly. Then get it back to us by June 15th. NOT June 16th – it will not be accepted.

Finally, here are a two simple ways to GREATLY better your odds with our readers (and the managers):

1. Watch out Tips & Cautionary Tales

Jim, Tanya, and Anna–the CI Management Team–have been running Get Repped Now for ten years now, and we have seen it all. Check out these two videos, chock full of critical advice.

2. Avail Yourself of our CI Spec Format & Style Guide e-book

I wrote this book based on the CAA Style Guide and my own decades of experience in the biz, to help you write the cleanest, leanest, meanest version of your script possible. The CI Style Guide isn’t about just where to put the dialogue and how to format a phone call. It is packed with tips to help explode your writing voice.

120 pages, $4.95. Seriously, we see SO MANY common mistakes that could be easily rectified if people just read The Guide.
