Hello, friends! A quick hail from the bridge here at the starship Coverage Ink. We’re down to around the last hundred or so Get Repped Now submissions to review. We’ve got two new considers this week, bring us up to seven total. Hopefully we’ll finish up with 10, 11, or more! We’re pretty stoked about this batch. Some real talent at work, in a variety of genres and formats – and every single one of these we could see getting made. That is a beautiful thing.
For those of you still waiting, yes, we know it’s taking forever. We’ve got almost three dozen readers, but at any given time, some may be on vacay or hiatus or whatever. Two of ‘em recently got staffed on shows and are out for a while (awesome.) But enough excuses. We hope to have all the analyses back to everyone by the end of August. Then we will go out with our considers to our managers mid to late September, when everyone is back in town and hopefully ready to read!
FYI, the reason we send them all out at the same time is to hopefully create a feeding frenzy of sorts. If one manager is potentially interested in a writer, we alert all the others. This brinkmanship is part of the biz, and sometimes it even works. This also helps to light a fire under the managers’ butts to read quickly. That said, there are some managers who couldn’t read quickly if you hit ‘em with 10,000 volts. Eh. We do what we can.
Again, thanks to everyone who sent in a script. We are pulling for each and every one of you. Except that one guy who sent in 250 pages of hand-written (what appeared to be) Sanskrit, with corrections made in Wite-Out. Not pulling for him. But everyone else, yeah.
